0RWSl7CIadefTAIim4GGeW-chFo-PPI would like to extend our congratulations to the Pirate Party of Sweden, whose members are celebrating 10 years of the party’s existence this weekend. We would also like to congratulate the Pirate Party of Germany who will also celebrate 10 years on September.10th.
You should be nothing but proud of what you have accomplished over the years, from the creation of a brand new political movement to paradigm shifts within mainstream politics, as perspectives and issues get introduced that were never previously considered. Now, Pirates in Sweden and Germany are very much at the forefront of modern political debates, not only when it comes to well-known “Pirate issues” such as copyright reform, privacy, digital freedoms, whistleblower protections, etc. but also when it comes to the larger picture of human rights and the desire to build a better world, free from violence and hatred in all forms. Pirates are freedom fighters. Pirates are revolutionaries. We may live in dark, tumultuous times right now but everyday, Pirates are leading us into a brighter future. The Swedish and German parties exemplify this.
While you celebrate this milestone, Pirates all over the world stand with you and continue to learn from your accomplishments. You are inspirational to us all and while many of us cannot be with you physically, know that in every part of the world we are celebrating with you in spirit.
Congratulations on 10 years of changing the world, Piratpartiet and Piratenpartei!
Best wishes,
Pirate Parties International Board 2016-2017

Thanks for leaving us out. Austrian pirate party is the second oldest PP in all of europe and we still ARE part of the PPI. Thank you very much!

Sorry for omitting you. PPI had been acting on current and publicly announced celebrations. And we still remember the efforts Florian and others had made to establish PPAT and the international Pirate Movement.
